The Asian American Forum (AAF) was founded in 1967 as a nonprofit organization. Its mission is to further Asian American cross-cultural understanding and communication on a wide range of subjects, including the arts, politics, literature, economics, ecology, headline events, history, commerce, and industry.
This mission is accomplished through regularly scheduled activities, including monthly programs that are distinctive in range and depth. Small groups meet monthly for discussions of books, films, cross cultural topics and to attend cultural events.
AAF members were born in, have lived in, worked in or traveled extensively in Asian countries and have an active abiding interest in the affairs and cultures of Asian countries. These members are drawn from current and retired associates of diplomatic and governmental services, international institutions, research/educational organizations and individuals such as academics, artists, musicians, writers and business people.
The Asian American Forum is a volunteer organization and willingness to volunteer is an important element of membership.
